Bergamo Airport Departures

Live up to date information on all Bergamo Airport Departures.

It is advisable to keep up to date on all the departures information from Bergamo airport.  The airport can get busy during peak time and unfortunately, just like any other airport, delays do occur.


I have provided a widget further down this page that allows you to keep informed with any changes to the departures from Bergamo airport.

Bergamo Airport Departures Procedures

As with any International airport, passengers wishing to board a flight from Bergamo Airport will first be required to Check-In for their flight first. If you are flying from Bergamo Airport you will need to either Check-In at the airport or Check-In online before you leave for the airport.

It is recommended you arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to your departure time.

Check-In Area At Bergamo Airport

Bergamo airport is not the largest of airports and at peak times, the departures area can become a little crowded. However, the staff at the airport do their best to make sure the process moves as quickly as possible.

The Check-In desks at Bergamo Airport are situated on the Ground floor level of the airport. The buses, coaches and taxis all drop passengers off outside the Departures area and this makes it very easy to access the Departures Lobby. Once you enter the airport Terminal, the Check-In desks are located to the right at the end of the Terminal.

If you require your suitcase to be wrapped in protective wrapping, there is a wrapping service available in the Departures area.

There are 46 Check-In desks inside the Departures area.

Once you enter the departures area, you will need to find the correct Check-In desks for your flight. Every flight departure from Bergamo Airport is allocated  a set number of Check-In desks and you can check which desks have been allocated for your flight by looking at the overhead monitors in the Departures area.

Many airlines now allow passengers to Check-In for their flight online and if you have Checked-In online and are only carrying hand luggage onboard the aircraft, you will not be required to go to the Check-In desks. You can make your way to passport control and security. If you have hold luggage, you must check it in at the check-in desk which is allocated.

Please Note: If you do Check-In for your flight online, ensure that you print off your Boarding Pass before you leave for the airport and ensure you have it with you. Failure to show your Boarding Pass will result in the airline having to issue you with a new Board Pass and this is not cheap and can cost up to £100.

At The Check-In Desk

If you have not checked-in online, you will be required to check-in at one of the check-in desks that has been designated for your flight.  You will also be required to present a valid passport and any other documentation for travel.  You will then be issued with your boarding pass and will then be required to make your way to the Security and Passport Control.

Security Area At Bergamo Airport Departures

Once you have successfully Checked-In for you flight, you can then make your way to the Security area. The Security area is located in the centre of the Ground floor and every passengers will be required to pass through security before entering the main Departures lounge ‘Airside’. At Security, passengers will be required to place all hand luggage and any loose items in the blue trays provided. Any metal objects or jewellery should also be placed in the trays and any liquids you may be carrying in your hand luggage should be placed in a transparent bag and should not exceed the legal amount. The trays will then be put through the xray machines and scanned for any illegal objects or substances. Passengers will also be required to walk through the scanner before collecting there hand luggage and belonging from the trays on the other side.

Any sharp objects or liquids exceeding the allowed amount will be confescated.

After you have successfully cleared Security, you will be free to make your way to the main departure lounge, where you will find duty free shops and several cafes. As you exit the Security area, you will see an escalator and this takes you up into the main Departures Lounge Area on the 1st floor. As you reach the top of the escalator, you will need to turn left and you will then see the signs for all the Gates.

Boarding Gates

There are 23 Boarding Gates at Bergamo Airport and each flight departure is allocated a Boarding Gate. You will need to keep your eye on the overhead monitors in the Departures area to find out which Boarding Gate your flight has been allocated.

Boarding Gates 1-11 are downstairs and you will need to take the escalator down to the Gates from the 1st floor.

The Main Departures Lounge At Bergamo Airport

Due to the new extension of the Departures Lounge, there are now many more shops, cafes and restaurants for passengers to enjoy at Bergamo Airport. As you make your way to your Boarding Gate, you will pass by all the shops which are located along the way. There are a variety of shops all selling a wide range of products and the list below are some of the shops in the Departures area.

VIP Lounge

There is a VIP Lounge available at Bergamo Airport for passengers holding Business Class tickets, card holders or who have purchased access through an Airport Lounge programme.
